Thank you for your submissions.

1st Like a candle in the wind – May be a bit to critical; it is not a perfect shot; however, the heat from the flame causes the movement of air and the flame itself is disturbed by the breeze making it the perfect topic shot.

2nd ACPIC Wave gazers – It’s blowing…strong

3rd TYRONET2000 Starboard ship don't need no Wind – by far the best photograph technically. Love it, love it, love it.

1. PERSPICATOR Rustling Leaves - SUMMERY. Lovely summery feel from the blue, blue skies contrasting the obviously strong wind blowing the branches about. Can't help the feeling it's a cold breeze....

2. JAK Approaching Storm - MENACING. A strange stillness of the wind turbines, as if weary about the strength of the oncoming storm. The color scheme and grain, and the somewhat over the top processing strangely add to the mood of the photo; in a good way (the witch is just below turbine no 5, counting from the left side of the image )

3. RAMSEYBUCKEYE Cold Gray Wind - CREEPY. I love it. Full of ambiance. Imagination kicks in. An old, abandoned graveyard in a desolate area. I can hear the wind. The tombs can feel the wind; they look weathered. The simple mono film look suits it extremely well. One problem – it was not shot in July 2016 

4. CHRISHORSNELL Requiem for the wind - NOSTALGIC. Both me and my other half have miners in our immediate families - in two different countries; both communities affected by the wind of change. Both nostalgic about the past.

5. JOHNRILEY Blowin' in the Wind - Subtle and gentle, yet the slightly prolonged exposure is a good way to show intended movement caused by the wind.

6. TYRONET2000 Starboard ship don't need no Wind - Initially I thought that this was the exact opposite of what I hoped for; then I noticed the ship had a wake! Movement, wind! Right there! Harnessed perfectly. Now, Paul, tell me how you managed such a perfect lens flare!

7. ACPIC Wave gazers - The wave is a lovely demonstration of the effects of the wind; I do wish the focus of the photograph was actually on the wave; but my eyes are drawn to the people on the wall.

8. PAULB531 Wind Power - Would’ve loved this shot on a slightly longer exposure to show movement; the effect of the wind.

9. DAVIDWOZHERE Wind? .... What wind? Love the shot. The blue. Just like ‘your’ green at times. Awesome! Wind; what wind? Erm….show me the wind…damn it! BLOW….

10. SIMONMAC Blow me - Mhm…I’m married….it looks like a setup. The only evidence of ‘wind’ is the strange position of the tie. Let me on, on the secret? I do like the photo; a lot….

11. NOELCMN An easterly wind was blowing today - You got it! Lovely shot. A unique moment;2 well captured. If it wasn’t for the shore in the background; it would be hard to realize that the boats are miniatures.

12. DROFMIT Like a Candle in the Wind Simple yet so effective. There is no doubt in my mind that it’s a breeze causing it to sway to one side. Not quite sure what the light spot in the background is.

Congratulations to the windier winners. Sorry I didn't have any at all where I was, so I thought, "Oh, blow it !"
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Thanks for the win, Mags07....
and congratulations to everyone...
a helluva challenge as Simonmac indicates....
and thanks for the comments...
no, not one of my best.... if I have a major criticism of the WG-2, it is the lack of control over exposure...
you can set EV levels... but it seems, often, to ignore them!!

Our landlady had put these candles on the tables for Bastille Day... and something said...Yup, wind!
So whilst everyone else was watching the fireworks sillhouetting the church.... I was clicking at candles!!
So the light spot in the background is, in fact, the reflection of the flame in the opposite side of the glass container.

Fortunately, it is the Monthly.... so I'll put my thinking cap on and try and get a subject up by tomorrow morning!!
Never be afraid to talk about your techniques...
