Wow, a win in the monthly! Thanks, Flan, for setting and judging the contest. No problem with the slight delay in getting the result out, I assumed you were on holiday and would be back for the weekend.
I'll confess now that the winning picture was an afterthought squeezed in at the end of a short session shooting the full-blown flowers. And since taking a focus stack wasn't the original intention, the full paraphernalia of focus racks etc. was still in its boxes so the shots for the stack were taken simply by turning the focus ring by tiny amounts and hoping. Which just goes to show that the best things in life are often unplanned surprises!

Lychnis flower close up, by Davidwozhere.
A beautiful isolated capture. The red is rendered perfectly as is the perfect outline.
This is top marks, so well done
Fly by PRYorkshirej
The suspense even if it’s only the possible demise of a fly.
Brutal but vulnerable all at the same time.
Nature close up as it is.
Quick of the mark is this
A flower gives way to seeds by Lubbyman
I look at all photos on full screen and this one shines
Beautiful detail perfect depth and I also see it staring back out
Yes you have caught more
Afternoon tea in the garden, by Stevistds
Delicate is the butterfly as is the yellows to handle, you have managed both with ease and the composition is spot on.
Hydrangea by johnRiley
Fantastic attention to detail being displayed here.
I love the exposure , deep but clean and crisp on it’s edges
Also interesting when you review this lens.
I’m watching you by Dewsburya
A fawn portraiture, I think that the fawn captured you.
The important parts are right , great pose
Feeding by MOHL
Yes bees love there thistles and you have managed to get one that would stay steady for long enough.
Great detail in this where it matters
Mushroom with pine needles by D Bromley
I am sure that the print is far superior than the conversion to a digital format can ever emulate. I would however cut the lower third and make it a square crop..
Beautiful rendition non the less
Nectar Gathering by R Buckell
A dance between both you and this magnificent colour full creature of nature.
You have done it justice and more, focus where it matters even if all was moving about.
Pale blue flowers, by Kasperberholt
One would never know that they are pale blue.
B@W is and always will be about something else
I love the composition and mood.
Working by Nigelk
