Monthly #107 - The darling buds Competition

Competition Details
Closing Date: 31/05/2021
Judge: Perspicador

More springtime offerings please, and if you can feature creatures enjoying your darling buds, all the better! I shall favour the perceived difficulty envisaged in obtaining your submissions along with the quality and seasonal charm of each capture, which must be taken in the month of May with appropriate Pentax equipment only. Let's have some Spring Fever to dispel the covid cloud we have all been under!

Here is an adjudication

I am concerned that this flower is somewhat lurid and inflamed: it is almost gruesome! It is what it is.

Delighted with the Bluebells, which are quite rare considering their short season - and right there in the middle wildlife having a feast! A worthy winner.

Alpen Rose
Coming in a close second, these beautiful mountain fleurs - wait while I break into song: Edelweiss, edelweiss - but they are the wrong mountains!

Small scabious bud
I think you need to home in on what we are looking at a bit more and give the buds a chance

Lea Gardens
Likewise, we are too removed from the subject - but what Beautiful Gardens! I think we all wish we were there!

Beauty and the Beast
I think we have a third-place entry here, with the Beast just discernable.

Clematis Bud Triptych
This one is truly a Botanist's delight, but it is derailed by a highly sketchy record of Exif data, noted for its absence. Now I know I should not be blaming you for this - it is as it is - or as it isn't in this instance. Highly Commended Just the Same!

So there we have it.

1. Pollinator

2. Alpen Rose

3. Beauty and the Beast

This adjudication might appear a bit heady - with floral intoxication? More likely the Chilean Vino my friend was supping over a month ago. It will wear off.
Over to you Michael.

Thanks for the HC. I am happy with that. Just to point out, for the sake of future adjudication, that while the rule states the exif data should be left intact, it also says that where the software doesn’t present them, they should be added in the description, which is what I did. Hope this is helpful. Thanks again for the comp.
