Monthly # 117 - Footwear Competition
February's landscape event forced us to look up and out. I hope this subject will focus on down and in. I will look forward to some imaginative interpretations of the subject which I hope will provide some fun. The usual monthly rules apply for Pentax shots in March submitted by its end 31 March (not what is listed).
In no particular order:
I like the idea of footloose, but only wish the feet were better displayed.
The boots on map is a great idea and could form the cover for an album of a hiking trip. Their wet appearance gave the look of having just been removed. I got distracted by the shadows, but my consultant artist liked the effect.
The collection of crocs is impressive, but it is one way to always have a pair handy. I can see how it would have been difficult to crop out the top pair which could have been replaced with bare toes!
The discarded sock looks as abandoned as the person who lost it, sadly. It does tell a distressing story which is becoming more common. I liked the depth of field you selected.
The motion of the walking boots was a good way to use the theme. I would have preferred the ground be stationary, but my artist consultant felt that it moved the picture to an abstract and with that effect a more artistic shot.
Looking forward to the winner's April theme. Joe
Now to get my thoughts together for April's competition.

Joe, thanks for the competition.... it was fun deciding what to use.... but in the end, it was my Crocs collection.... well, the current winter ones....
It is a shoe storage unit that they are up against and the toes are my outdoor mucky toes.... they are actually too long for the unit's width.
As for bare toes..... it's still winter here.... we had snow yesterday... frost forecast for tonight and tomorrow... and sadly, all our fruit trees are in full blossom!!
Never be afraid to talk about your techniques...
