It's my intention to put the judging here when the competition is over. I would suggest that any discussion about the pictures is started as before as a thread in the forum - perhaps in the Competitions section - so that the judge can avoid being influenced by the opinions made.
Does that sound reasonable?

When I click on a thumbnail to get the bigger pic, the forwad and back buttons do not flick to the next competition photo. I am sure this would aid judging.
A couple of thought on this gallery:
1) could the main view of the photos be at 800 on the max instead of the smaller size they are now - would make judging easier I am sure. I think we still need to keep the limited file size.
2) I know following a competition, people like to review the comments against the photos, is there any way that this could be facilitated with judging comments in a scrolable window below the main view of the images? Just an idea.
3) Would it be possible to, when a new competion is created, that a trhead could automatically be generated in the Competitions Forum for posting comment. Then the only comment that should be in the in the particular competition Gallery would be the judging. The Competion Forum coul then have a link to the corresponding competion gallery.
One question, is it possible to post a competion before the previous one has expired? If so (haven't/won't test it!), should this be restricted to only one active competion?

That was my thought also. Seems a good idea, since the room is already created.

I like this gallery, I think it's a good effort.
I agree with beakynet's suggestion to view judges comments under the image, that would be very cool. Bit of a pain to code tho' I imagine.
If the judge could be given some special (temporary) moderator level access they could add their critique below the poster's own comments under the photo. not sure how that would be achieved either tho'

Just to clarify a couple of points :-
Presumably the only way to submit a photo is by the direct upload method, rather than by a link to a host site :
What determines the image size : Previously I set the 800 limit on my Photobucket account.

I notice there is no exif data for any of the images (photoME), will this be permanent, or is it something that can be fixed:

There's some data on my image, but it's incomplete.

You are right George. I also have some on my photo (also the other photos, but it is limited). You have to click on the images, then click on 'Exif' (in red font) and there it is On the old (2days ago:lol set up, I could right click and open in 'photoME' and get all the exif. It seems the 'system' is stripping the bulk of the exif data on compression:
I did read a message on one of the threads from David Burleson, that they were working on exif. I'm not whining, just curious

Hi all,
Maybe the question has already been asked, but in this competition I miss an add notification button. As all the other threads have it, This part of the forum shouldn't miss one, don't you agree?
Martin.

Is it just me or have we lost some entries from the competition?
For me it thinks there is only one page (first & last give the same results) but some of the early entries, (including mine!), are not shown any more.

I have now declared my winner! This will generate an e-mail for another comp, but please remember this is just a test and not a new series...
Best regards, John
