Gwrych Castle Lives!

Photo Information
Gwrych Castle, in Abergele, North Wales, is a place I visited when it was a huge folly house, but open and used. albeit it decaying. I saw jousting there in the 1970s, I walked its corridors, I climbed its legendary main staircase. Then it was trashed, dismantled and ignored by the local council until it became a wreck and a shell. Here, hope shines like the sun shines through its windows, as the Gwrych Preservation Trust takes command and the restoration is well under way. Curently the castle is being used as a TV set for something I don't watch, but it will all bring money in. Of course, whilst it will gain it will also lose and steadily become less of a romantic ruin, but it's the right path and the light is on and shining.
