Dumbing Down

We had our pavements renewed with a super coat of more tarmac, and as we can see it's not possible to see the difference between the road and the pavement, except for the dividing line of kerb stones. As a skill it's a dumbing down compared to laying stone slabs, but it soon looks a mess as well as it was ony about a week before someobody came along to lay some cables and dig bits of it up again.
