Carinish phone box, North Uist. A sad relic of a time when there wasn't a phone in every home and mobile phones were science fiction. Love, misery, hope, dispair, plans made, lives shattered, that phone box would have heard it all. And literally a life saver for a remote community when the nearest doctor meant a long and arduous journey.
