The Goldsmith... a large, flightless, carnivorous ground beetle...
the metallic green seen here actually shades from red through to a rich gold colour as it moves.
You can see traces of all the colours in the green areas.
A gardener's friend is this beastie....

The white on the body of the beetle is in fact flakes of a wax that the carapace exudes...
this helps keep the beetle clean... you will see that there are traces of cobwebs in various places....
picked up upon its wanderings.

The lens is the Pentax 100mm Macro...
used here with the x1.4 converter...
hence 140mm!!
