Ripon Cathedral

by johnriley

This is a magnificent building and in common with many similar cathedrals one problem is to maintain detail in the stained glass whilst showing detail in the darkest areas. This is for me one area where HDR is most useful. This image is made from seven exposures, processed through Photomatix. The aim was to make the richness of the wood glow, preserve the highlight, but not go too far with the HDR effect.
