Two animals

in very different positions. As mentioned in my first posting of this shot - only on the photo I saw how weird the tongue looks like - normally you don't see the tongue with your naked eye, as it goes in and out far to quick.
Interesting to see his protected eyes. It seems to have a kind of "fire and forget" tongue - once the tongue is out it does not look at the prey anymore (I assume that this should protect the eyes from fast approaching parts - like legs - from the prey, when it is pulled back with high speed into the mouth).
The picture was taken freehand with a ringflash (held in the other hand )
