Aftermath

by davidtrout

The aftermath of Storm Desmond which devastated the far north of England and the Scottish Borders in December 2015. I set off from Durham early morning do railway photography on the West Coast Mainline at Penrith. As I headed west over the Pennines it soon became obvious other photo opps were opening up. The River Eden had burst its banks cutting off some villages and flooding the centre of Appleby. Roads through the village was blocked and rescue crews were busy rescuing people from their homes.
