A brush with nature

I was taking the dead flowers off my Pelargoniums/Geraniums when I came across this odd fellow - I have been online and cannot identify him/her.I felt a record shot was in order and I managed a couple hand held with the K100D and 18-55 AL with fill flash.F 5.6 Iso 200 and 1/60th second.When I returned with the *istD and macro lens the thing had gone.Very strange with paintbrush-like tufts on the back and angry red spots.
