That's because they're not selling any due to all us potential buyers being on this thread waiting for the prices to come down!

Shhhhhhhh, until supply outstrips demand the price will stay high. Pretend we're not interested, then rush them all at once.
Lurking is shirking.!

In my view the price war resumed when Nikon announced the D7000 pricing.

I bought the K-5 when the cashback offer was on. Strange but if one bought the body and lens kit, the cashback was £40 more than the body only. The street price for the body with lens was £40 more than the body.

Hence, I got the lens free. Nice one.

Yes, the K-5 high ISO is everything it is cracked up to be, but it doesn't stop there. 16+ Mpixels gives very detailed landscapes. The menu system is great, the level meter display for both side to side and front to back is novel, the Video is very detailed. The autofocus is fast and dependable.

This really is the camera we have all been waiting for from Pentax for a very long time. I am too old now to wait five years, so it is in my bag now.

I can look forward to some very nice images in the coming months.

Maybe no shortage of stock in the USA. B&H have them in and are also taking pre-orders for the K5 Silver.

Best regards

Hmm... maybe that's not such a daft idea!

Just how many people out there ARE actively waiting for their K5 ? I certainly am.

I wonder which dealer would give a good price to sell 20 cameras ?

Had a play on Daniel Bridge's K5 today and was quite impressed. Now just need the price to drop to low enough...

Keep an eye on the oil price. If oil goes up so will be the camera. In times like at the moment you may find that you get it cheap now but depending on the political situation oil may rise drastically and then the price for the camera will go up as well.
Kind regards

It's nice to be nice!

Pentax K-5 with D-GB4 Grip, to many lenses to mention by now (serious LBA by now), TC's, Lowepro Slingshot 300 AW, Manfrotto 028 & Redsnapper RS-283 with various Heads plus various Camera Clamps (I collect them). Will wait for the next model before deciding whether to purchase the K5 or even buy the next model.
