Number Seven.

A great, but wet, day out with Carl last Saturday saw us riding the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. You've seen his take on the A4 and here's mine. Both shots are completely different but I love them both I have to say. This one is a hand-held, but fence supported, HDR comprising five shots tonemapped in Photomatix Essentials.

Excellent picture, agree with everyone else, this one of the best I've seen. I visited this railway a few weeks ago but there were no trains running as apparently there had been a fatal accident further down the line.

Very nice work Paul.

I particularly like the atmosphere you have captured by including the coaling stage in the distance, the crew stood by and of course the smoke.

And here we are ten years later and only yesterday did I select this photo as my computer's wallpaper! If any of you who provided the lovely comments above are still around may I offer my slightly belated thanks!
