Thanks for the kind comments, two pairs of swans spent about half an hour sidling up to one another then chasing, then pretending not to see each other until one of them chased the other. It almost seemed playful and there didn't seem to be any of the violent attacks normally associated with swans when fighting for the right to mate or territory.
