Slant Range
by aliengrove
An updated/reprocessed (increased contrast) version of a pic from the Tibetan Plateau that I originally posted in the Your Photo's forum.
PS: I've edited this a bit late, but just in case anyone else stumbles across this (to explain the title), slant range is the distance between an aircraft and a fixed point on the gound, rather than the geographical distance.

Wow, a real stunner and the slant gives it a nice dynamic feel, a quite breathtaking vista, can we see a bit of darkness of outer space as well :

It's like a piece of graphic art, Jon. Stunning. I'm glad you're recording these places. Who knows, with global warming these glaciers may look evry different in a few years time.
Best wishes,
Andrew

Thanks folks! It's great to have the opportunity to get these shots, and it's rarer than you might think that time, place, light and weather come together to provide the subject. Flat areas mostly look pretty boring from that height, and haze is a perennial problem.
If I could, you'd be one of the first I would call, Doc!
yes, maria, I take it as a compliment thanks!
