Steam Survivor

by pgweber

Here is a shot from 2 years ago, of Ex BR 4-6-2 No 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' heading South from Loughborough at the Great Central Railway's 2010 Winter Steam Gala.

The 2012 event is being held this weekend on the line between Loughborough & Leicester North. The weather forecast is fine and cold which will make a good display of steam like this.

I am looking forward to giving my new FA50 a run out too.

(Oliver Cromwell was the last steam loco to run, in 1968, under the auspices of British Railways).

Its good to see one of your images on here again Peter and one of my favorite locos as well!.

The Britannia`s are such handsome locomotives and i`m glad two have survived. Cromwell looks good here Peter and you have made an excellent job of capturing the moment.
Cliff.

What a sight, lots of steam and noise on a cold day. You captured it all and so well. I can even hear it now.
