Derbyshire Duchess

by pgweber

Three times before, I have featured this steam engine taking a day-trip to Scarborough in April.

Showing how repititive the rail-tour calendar is, she was doing the same again on Saturday.

Ex LMS 4-6-2 No. 6233 Duchess of Sutherland is pictured passing the ruins of South Wingfield Manor in Derbyshire. She is recently back on the main line after a major overhaul and is now in British Railways green livery (having previously being maroon and then black).

I would have liked to find a better viewpoint, but was relying on OS maps to find a spot close to the line.

Nicely captured Peter, she looks fine in her new clothes although my preference would be for Crimson Lake livery.
