The wheels of this locomotive have all been fitted with new tyres in the workshop of the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland. Here's a short sequence of one wheelset being put back again after profiling the tyres on the wheel lathe. The loco is LMS NCC 2-6-4T No.4.
Pentax K70 and adjustments in Lightroom.

Lovely sequence. Joe public rarely ever sees things like this.

As a K70 owner like the series of photos showing good detail. As a Doncaster Works former Engineering Manager really like the wheel drop, makes changing a wheel set so easy. We used to have to lower a loco onto the full set of wheels in one go, even on a Class 08 this was never an easy task.
