Yes that's correct Kenty, and then there's LFC `Less Favourable Cameras`

The list is getting bigger, now added abbreviations and acronyms from Sigma and Tamron. Still need to find out the meaning/purpose of many of the acronyms that tamron use.

I never knew we had so many abbreviations and acronyms, I understand that some get lost what some words mean.

Absolutely related to Pentax:
LBA: Lens buying addiction

And these of course.....
OT: Off Topic
OP: Original Poster

PF: Purple Fringing

PPG: Pentax Photo Gallery (very much related to this brand)

And at your description of sRGB and RGB it could be wise to refer to these as colour spaces instead of models.

HIH and great job so far, Stefan.

Martin.
Best regards,

Martin.

Thank you Martin, I will surely at those and great to see you back again we've missed you alot

About RGB and sRGB, RGB is a colour model and sRGB is an colour space so need to change that. Thank you again

perhaps "functionally similar to Pentax SMC" would be more diplomatic

seriously though, great list so far, hopefully it will be a great help to new starters.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

And we want to be diplomatic so yes thank you, will change that

Still need to look up a lot and at a little explaination what the word means.

Can I give a couple of minor corrections:

CCD – Charged Coupled Device - An image sensor device.
CMOS – Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor - An image sensor device.

CCD and CMOS are the underlying technologies used for the image sensors and both have many other uses and implementations.

Fair enough, what would you suggest?
I don't want to complicate things and if we talk about cmos or ccd what would a photographer need to know?

Something like:

CMOS - Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor Image Sensor. There are two semiconductor technologies used in digital camera image sensors: CMOS and CCD. It has been common practice to (incorrectly) refer to the type of image sensor by the technology used.

Maybe add a couple of comments on why CMOS is better ...

CCD - Charge Coupled Device Image Sensor. See CMOS

Too much complication will spoil a potentially useful list.

I've changed the wording a bit so that it's now correct.
It's simply to give the people an idea what the word is about nothing more nothing less if they wanna know more they can look it up on wiki.
It might even be an idea to link words to topics in wiki, I think I'll do that when I've the time.

Useful job you do ! Thanks !

Some of the posts have been quite "chinese" for me. This list helps.

Now I have to learn the slang as well
