Storm Over The Castle

by davidstorm

An image from yesterday's visit to Conisbrough for the Tour De Yorkshire Cycle Race events. During the early afternoon we got some heavy Cumulo-Nimbus Storm Clouds and I waited until they were over the castle, with a weak sun illuminating the stonework. To accentuate the effect I've processed this in high contrast black and white, using Nik Silver Efex Pro.

Very dramatic lighting, the picture has a nice moody atmosphere which is appropriate for the grim history which most castles have.
At least you got to see the Tour de Yorkshire out on the road David, those of us waiting for live TV coverage were sorely disappointed yesterday.

Good use of effects to make a dramatic image. Shame about the fence
