The Quiet Voice of Nature

Afternoon light begins to illuminate the granite slabs and blocks of the southern side of Bonehill Rocks, as clouds scud past across the vast expanse of Dartmoor.
Lovely image. Great framing also
Thanks very much for your encouraging comments Abam48 This photo was made during a rest from bouldering (free-climbing) on the plethora of fine granite climbs there. It is one of my most frequent ‘go to’ places up there for climbing and photography.
Best
Best viewed large to see the texture of the stone. I'm not surprised you often go there
Thank you very much Stan - I am definitely fond of this location, still tons of ideas for photos up there in different light and weather opportunities
remarkable spot take, .. with, IMHO, excessive expo
Cheers The white lichens and the quartz crystals in the granite made for a tricky exposure, but the Histogram was just touching the right hand side with no clipping
Love the contrast between the hard granite and the soft ferns
Thanks very much Malc The ferns seemed to give a nice journey through the rock formations and their organic textures and form seemed to contrast interestingly with the defined edges of the rocks
Simply beautiful
Thanks so much Giulio
Very nicely put together... I rather like the bright exposure... lends the photograph a real sense of optimism...
