Greys Court Ice House
by PeterKR
This is the building which houses (and insulates) "The Abyss" (ice pit) posted yesterday.
The roof is nowadays protected by a steel mesh but the deep thatch reaching almost to the ground helped to insulate the interior and enable them to keep the ice useful well into the Summer.
The way in is via a small door on the right.
