Shooting ice skating fundraiser - advice needed

Hi

Will be shooting at a local dancing on ice fundraiser this weekend and was hoping for some advice.

Synthetic ice rink measuring about 10m x 10m. Lighting should be fairly good I'd expect.

Have no decent zooms, so was thinking of using the 77mm throughout? Any advice appreciated

I've shot some uni-ice hockey before...

The light isn't as good as you expect... Shoot RAW and raise your ISO...

My best results were at around 1/750th and faster...

The people skating with not be moving anywhere near as fast as ice hockey players so hopefully I'll be able to drop it down a bit lower than that David. The synthetic rink for starters has a bit more resistance.

Don't expect, if you can scout the place.
Take the kit lens if you have it, wide angles are also good if you manage to get close to the edge.

Don't stick to freezing action. Explore slower shutter speed to impress a sense of movement, for some shots it works.
