I really liked the look of these cranes and waited for the workers to get in a favourable position. There are three, by the way.
This'll be another image for my photo project.

Nice one. Good choice of perspective and a very interesting sky.

Great picture! and a great project idea... There's so much being built around London all the time, and now especially with the Olympics on the way. Looking forward to seeing more.

very lovely.
I like the contrast of the soft fluffy clouds against the hard sharp steel of the cranes.

Thanks, everyone.

Mat, the olympic area is closed off from quite a way out, I think.

Nice shot again, Paul. Good positioning of the cranes and an interesting sky as a backdrop. I also like the building in the bottom corner, and the narrow, long frame you have chosen.

Is this with the 16-45 @ 16mm? If so, either:

a. I'm surprised about how much stretch that 16mm has caused; or
b. How darn tall those cranes are; or
c. A combination of a. & b.

Thanks, Mhuni.

The cranes are tall but not as tall as some, I think the guy crawlin' up inside one of 'em can give you a reference to the size maybe.
Also, the image was shot at 16mm.

This has been a rare occasion where i've got to use the 16mm end of this lens, I have used it on occasion but most of my shots to date, have been around the mid to 45mm end. I hope to use it a lot more for this project.

If I'm not mistaken, while it's good throughout the 16-45's strength is actually (and unusually) the wide end. Which just goes to show what good use you've been making of the longer end!
