Both seem fine to me.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I love that picture of the fruit market.
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

Apparently.

Why should we mind. It's all about pictures. As long as you don't rub in that this brand is better than that... Feel free to hang around as much as you want IMO

£79 for K version is a STEAL IMO. I sold my a year ago for £120!

Now you've done it - if they still have it by payday I will most likely be giving it serious thought! I'm keeping LBA under control by sticking to original K series and any cheap early Takumars.

I already have the DA 35/2.4 which is probably the best walkabout lens for the money, but I quite fancy an ultrawide for my film bodies.

The fruit shot is a great example of street shooting.

How does the PPG work? Votes? If so Appeal to Popularity is a logical fallacy. Something isn't better based on the number of people who say so.

I love the shot, but all that matters is that you love it

I hope your payday is soon! I don't think it'll hang about for long at that price. They had two of them in last 6 weeks or so and they didn't stay for long. Seriously, even I was tempted to buy it for resale. Good luck. At that price the little gem is worth more than every penny u pay for it!

I've got a Tamron 28/2.5 and have been pleased with pictures from it.

It seems to get good reviews and I've been very happy with its performance - sharp with pleasing colours. Definitely good value for money.

Picked one of these up for £15.50 incl postage last night from ebay. Hope its in good nick. Also picked up, over the weekend an extension tube for my Tamron 90mm f/2.5 macro. That was just over £19 incl the postage.

I regularly use my Tammy 24mm f2.5 - my favourite in the days of film and very useable moderate wide (36mm) on APS-C

I have also been looking at 28's recently but not gone for one just yet thinking its a little close to the 24 and that Santa might read my letter and drop me off a DA35 f2.4 on his way over.

That will slot nicely between 24,50,90,135mm primes and leave me only aching for the 15 ltd.

I'm heading for a Pentax-A 24mm 2.8 or possibly third-party equivalent, I want to get away from 'green button' metering with the M/K lenses and can't justify the price of the FA* for the amount of use it will get.

A Pentax-A 24mm 2.8 went for £89 on ebay BIN a few days ago

I would like to try a Pentax 24mm some day, but I'm very happy with my super-wide!

I tend to use my 28mm Takumar-A f2.8 more than the Pentax-A 50 mm f1.7 - why? because at 42mm equivalent I can fit more in - Its surprisingly good for contrast & sharpness considering its the 'budget' lens.

ffordes.com have all three generations of SMC 24 in their used section.
They have K24/2.8 @ £79, A24/2.8 £149 and 2x FA*24 @£449 & 499.
Personally I think A24 is good option if you don't need/want AF and/or f2. £149 is bit on higher side (I've seen them going for around £130 lately) but still acceptable IMHO. £79 for K version is a STEAL IMO. I sold my a year ago for £120! And £449 for FA* is a real value price.

fortunately choice is yours, not mine

Thanks for the advice. I've ordered the A24/2.8 from Ffordes - I can't justify £449 for a FA* for the level of use it's likely to get, and I've tracked two A 24s on ebay - one made £155 and the other is already £137 with a day to go.

Next on the list is an A 50mm 1.7 to replace my manual 50mm f/2. More LBA (), but I've postponed purchase of a K5 and have doubts about the new 18-135 WR.
