Small Tortoiseshell

by noelm

This butterfly was photographed in my garden about 15 years ago with a Pentax MZ-5n film camera, a SMC Pentax-M Macro F4 100mm lens and Fuji Velvia film. Scanned for this competition. At that time, Small Tortoiseshells, Peacocks, Red Admirals, Painted Ladies etc where commonplace in the garden throughout the summer. Now we're lucky to see the odd Cabbage White. How things change!
