Great shot!

St. Peter's Pastel Landscape

Hi Mike, this isn't a filter effect, it's all done in post processing. In this particular shot I noticed the detail in the far distance towards St. Peter's Square; on the original this is very pronounced, so I processed it to emphasise that detail. It's done with adjustments to levels, then two layers blended together using the 'soft light' blending option. I've then adjusted some of the col...

St. Peter's Pastel Landscape

It's a very different effect than I've had using the Pastel filter on the K7, yes it does look rather HDR. What did you do in your treatment?

Sparrow

Great shot.

Rother Valley Park

Idyllic spot captured brilliantly.

Northgate Street: 1972 coming into 2013

Interesting picture. Was matching the viewpoint difficult? Surely Location & relative FOV must be pretty similar for this to work so well.

M31 Andromeda Galaxy

Beautifully done! Whilst my scope/camera aren't quite as good as yours, with a lot of effort I ought to be able to capture something approaching this eventually, so I MUST give it another go soon! Andromeda has always been something I've wanted to photograph. I'd need to do the dark field subtractions, find clearer skies, and improve my tracking considerably to get anywhere near this. Hopefu...

Good Time Of The Sun. Evening

Fantastic lighting! I'm in two minds about the foreground branches - they contrast nicely with the background but, I think they come a little too far down on the right. - Perhaps crouching a little lower would have improved it??? - (Quite possibly not)

Stunning image of a wonderful bird, hope to see one with a fish next year :)

Ladybird & Stem - in colour!

I certainly prefer this one as well. A cracking shot!

Engrossed

Well done, a great shot really capturing the atmosphere & the B&W treatment really suits this. Shame I missed the Rally, Long Melford is close enough to have made it worth the trip.

Lovely shot!

Butterfly, my Butterfly....

Nice shot.

Power Tower

Nice shot. I'd be tempted to crop a little off the bottom (about 1/7th of the height) or to brighten the lower left, but I've been wrong before :)

As close as I'm going to get!

Handheld! How many shots did you need to do to get it in focus at that Magnification?

YAMAHA

Really shows the movement! You've managed to pan this beautifully, it's a shame the riders movement makes it look like camera shake, looking closer the far side of the track & bike show this isn't the case, despite the slow shutter speed. The bike itself is impressive.

Winter five

I like it. Mike

Yellow Berries

Indeed, perfectly controlled DOF. All of the subject (with the lovely colours) pin sharp, and the background suitably muted. But of course coming from Andrew we wouldn't expect anything less.

Street *

Even with the car bumper, I prefer the mono version which is unusual for me. I think cropping to remove the car might unbalance it slightly, but its probably the excellent conversion that does it. (It also helps make the black sheeting on the roof look less like PVC) But I must add that I'd still be happy to have taken this one! :)
