Ah ! Film, even after 24 years its still rendering that certain 'something'. Wonderful shades and colours, love the shot. Cheers, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 05/05/2011 - 12:43 |

Wonderful picture and certainly not boring. A recorded historical link (is that repetition?). To know where we are going, we must know and understand from where we came. Keep up the great work. Cheers, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 23/09/2010 - 20:59 |

Wonderful picture (I felt sure it was good old chrome). Really appreciated the shooting description and explanation. It will be helpful to others I assure you. You have told (and shown) a wonderful story. It was not the least bit boring and certainly not humble. This image, to me, is the true impetus of the photographic art, to record visually, life past and present. You have produced an outst... Comment by StephenLewis on 09/09/2010 - 18:43 |

Not sure, but maybe 5 were too many images to layer. How about trying 3. The up side is that I quite like the finished product. It is rather like an oil painting. Don't let this first attempt discourage you, keep experimenting. I don't like most HDR efforts, they're usually way too intense, but you appear to understand light and subtle textures. I wish all my wasted time had turned out half as good as this. Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 21/08/2010 - 20:56 |

Yes, view large screen!! So sharp I can count the threads on frayed binding. Andrew, you have done it again. Superb!! Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 13/05/2010 - 16:44 |

I think its the best use of HDR I've seen in a very long time. Lovely shot. Regards, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 03/04/2010 - 20:15 |

This makes me think of a Norman Rockwell painting. Very interesting. Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 01/04/2010 - 19:16 |

You've done that! Cheers, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 26/03/2010 - 19:35 |

Oh my good G.., didn't even notice the doorway before. The picture is straight! Though it is one of those cursed plastic thingies, I rather like it being there. Cheers, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 17/03/2010 - 17:46 |

Love this shot - the colour/composition. Though some may say 'straighten it out', I think the angle adds character. Regards, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 17/03/2010 - 12:35 |

Interesting photo with the lines and cross hatching, etc.. But it seems to me there is too much, or maybe the wrong, lighting. Doesn't give my the grittiness I think you were wanting. Can't place my finger on it though. I know the tiled wall is stained, but still it all appears a bit sterile. Too clean? Hope this is a bit of a help and not too negative. Look forward to seeing more. Regard... Comment by StephenLewis on 17/03/2010 - 01:43 |

But Ron, wouldn't the "improving" and "cropping" change the picture in relation to the story behind it? Don't the three items I mentioned transfer the whim of the photographer? Both the picture and the information given provide, dare I say, a wonderful piece of "art". Regards, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 16/03/2010 - 22:36 |

OH!! Love this shot. Very hazy, romantic almost. Too bad about the window frame on right side and what appears to be glare on the left. But over all, really like this picture. Cheers, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 16/03/2010 - 19:48 |

Excellent shot. Particularly like the winding path leading off to....perhaps the snow capped mount? Cheers, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 16/03/2010 - 19:45 |

Wonderful, eerie, but truthfully I think I prefer the previous one better. This reminds me of pictures from a fairy tale book I had as a child. I think its the centre column that bothers me. Sorry. A bit over powering maybe? Regards, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 16/03/2010 - 19:39 |

I don't mind the boat, adds something to the tranquility. The colour gradients and reflections are wonderful. Lovely photo. Regards, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 16/03/2010 - 12:49 |

Maybe, maybe, maybe, but a very affective and effective photo. Does it portray what you wanted it to portray? Are you pleased with it? If you answer yes, then you're right. Isn't this what Photography is about? Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 15/03/2010 - 21:56 |

Excellent photo. Love the detail and colours. Do you think a wider lens may have changed the commanding symmetry? Cheers, Stephen Comment by StephenLewis on 15/03/2010 - 19:58 |
