Pentax User have created the following document to explain what information we collect when you visit the Pentax User web site, why we collect such information, the ways information is gathered, how we use the information and the choices you can make about these practices.

General Viewing
When you visit Pentax User, we automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser. When you first visit certain areas of Pentax User you are asked to register. When you register
When you register to join in our forums, post photographs in the gallery or sign up for our newsletter we request your name and email address in addition to the non-identifiable information.
What data we collect and why we have it
When you sign up for a Pentax User account, your personal details are submitted to our secure server which is located in a secure data centre. This is protected by HTTPS encryption. Staff members and moderators of Pentax User may access this data when necessary, for example to contact you if you submit a report or to send you a prize. Below is a list of the data we collect and why we keep it.
Name –We need a name to identify you should you win a prize or should you contact us because you've forgotten your password; we may need to verify who you are by cross-checking your name with a form of ID for security purposes.
Email –We require an email address from you at sign up for verification purposes. We also use this email address to contact you where applicable. We can also send you our informative monthly editorial newsletter and any offers we think you might be interested in, if you are signed up to receive these. We take your privacy extremely seriously and will never sell your details to third parties. You can opt out of our newsletters at any time.
Address –We ask for an address so that if you win a prize it can be sent out to you. In some instances we may not be able to confirm all address details with winners before sending prizes out, so we ask that you keep this information up to date. We will not be held responsible if you win a prize and it is sent out to the wrong address due to the information not being up to date. Supplying your address is optional.
Other data such as date of birth, occupation and interests can be provided however this is entirely optional. We may occasionally use this data for anonymous demographics collections.
Closing your account
If you wish to close your account you must use the 'report a problem/ suggestion' link at the bottom of any Pentax User page and inform us that you wish to do so.
When you close your Pentax User account, the account data is stored on our secure servers. It is removed from Pentax User and is not searchable or accessible from the site. We keep the profile data and the photos uploaded to it in case you change your mind and ask to have the profile re-opened.
If you wish to have us destroy your profile and remove all data from our servers, you must request that we do so through the on-site report system and we will take the appropriate action to ensure this is carried out. Please note that once the action has been requested you will not be able to revive your profile and all your data will be permanently deleted. This is an irretrievable process. We ask that you think very carefully before making this decision as we will not be able to help with retrieving images from your profile.
When you sign up to Pentax User the data remains on our server permanently, unless you ask that the data be destroyed.
When we require full Personal Information
On some Pentax User Web pages you can order products, make requests and register to receive materials. The types of information collected at these pages are name, address, contact and billing information, transaction, and credit card information. This Personal Information we collect from you to help you complete a transaction and process any of your online transactions, to communicate back to you, to update you on our service and benefits, to provide you with information regarding our products and promotions, to support your use of our products and services, to personalize our Web site for you and for any other purpose related to the operation of Pentax User and the programs, products and services offered on it. You always have the right to choose whether or not to provide information about yourself to Magezine Publishing Ltd. Forums and Galleries
We will, but are not obligated to, monitor areas on Pentax User where users post forum messages or images. To maintain site, content and thread continuity, we will not delete forum messages or gallery comments, unless we feel they breach our terms and conditions.
Surveys, Polls & Competitions
Pentax User sometimes conducts surveys, competitions or Polls. If you answer a survey or enter a competition, you may be asked for additional information. Participation in these competitions or surveys is completely voluntary, and therefore the user has the choice of whether or not to disclose such information. Personal Information, as well as any other information, collected on this Site may be disclosed to our staff and/or agents so that they can contact you regarding our products, services, or promotional offers, respond to your requests, provide certain services to you and operate this Site and the programmes offered on it. We will not sell, lease, share or otherwise use your Personal Information except as set forth in this Privacy Policy or when stated in a specific surveys or competition details.
Making corrections and updates
We allow you to confirm, change, update, modify and delete Personal Information we hold about you. You may do this by logging into your profile and follow the necessary links to your personal data. From here you can delete or change any information you have provided to us.
Security
The Pentax User site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. We follow generally accepted procedures to back up data stored on our servers.
Credit cards and electronic payment
We do not store payment card details. We use third parties, PayPal and Pay 360 to process payments. All card data remains with the third parties. If you have a query regarding this, please refer to PayPal or Pay360's terms and conditions.
Children's Guidelines
Pentax User encourages parents or guardians to spend time online with their children and to participate in the forums and galleries. However no information should be submitted by visitors under 13 years of age without the consent of their parent or guardian. Parents or guardians can request to delete their child's personal information by contacting Pentax User at customerservices@Pentax User.com.
Certain Exceptional Disclosures
Pentax User may disclose your Personal Information, any images in your portfolio or any images you submit to the Public Gallery if requested to do so by legal authorities, required to do so by law or believes in good faith that such action is necessary to: (1) conform to the edicts of the law or to comply with any legal process served on Magezine Publishing Ltd or this Site; (2) protect and defend the rights or property of Magezine Publishing Ltd; or (3) act to protect the personal safety of users of Magezine Publishing Ltd, its websites or the public. If Magezine Publishing Ltd should ever file for bankruptcy or be acquired by a third party, merge with a third party, sell all or part of the Magezine Publishing Ltd assets, or otherwise transfer substantially all of its relevant assets to a third party, it may sell or share the Personal Information and all other information you have provided through this Site to such third party. Due to the potential for abuse of the services offered on Pentax User, Magezine Publishing Ltd reserves the right to review the content of your portfolio and to provide the proper authorities with your Personal Information as well as any images or information related to child pornography or any other illegal activity found on your account.
Choice/Opt-Out
We provide users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from Pentax User and our partners via an unsubscribe mechanism in all e-mail communication. You may "opt-out" of any marketing relationship we have with you by choosing to do so where such option is available.

Who does Pentax User share information with?
Pentax User will not share personally identifiable information without your consent. We may share information about your visits with advertisers, partners, sponsors or other third parties.
