These are beautiful birds, David, & your picture has captured a moment in its autumn life that tells us more about that life than a super-duper-sharp, every feather delineated exposure ever could!

Thanks for your kind words, it was taken from quite a distance in overcast afternoon light but I liked the bleakness of the whole scene.
