Do you want the gallery to yourself? and I think you should check the levels of you photos before you upload them

Some of the previous photos aren't straight, Xeoboy, although this one looks fine (the boat is listing slightly but that's not your fault!)

I will try and put Jackitec's comment more helpfully: the usual etiquette is to reserve the gallery for your *finest shots, and to upload them one at a time or in a very short sequence of two or three shots. This is not a 'rule' but it's just polite not to over-dominate the gallery page so everybody gets a chance at having their picture seen.

If you want to upload a lot of pictures, best to use the 'Your Photos' section of the forum, and you will soon get an idea from the comments what is working and what isn't.

I like this shot, certainly the best of the 10(!) you have just uploaded.

Thank you Pentaxophile,

thank you for taking the time to explain this. I will use the profile option from now on unless i am uploading a specific photo that i think warrants a look.

It's all explaining something that isn't actually a rule. The Gallery is here for members to put up pictures for others to view and comment on. An alternative exists in the forum itself for those who want it, but the original hope was that the greater convenience of the Gallery (no web hosting needed) would mean that members would find it useful to post here.

What members do is entirely up to them, but there's no need to have a go at anyone for doing whatever they decide to.
Best regards, John
