First rose of the season
Photo Information
Just a rose from the garden. Not done much to it, just cropped, colour corrected and removed some fringing. Lens was a Sigma 17-70mm, which isn't showing in the Exif, for some reason.

Beautifully done. The narrow DOF with lovely softness elsewhere plus the glorious colour makes this a winner.

Love it, just love it. The shadows the different shades of red with the tiniest of Gray/Black in it. Just lovely. Was watching it for minutes now and every so often you see something new within. Another one that I would print on A3 to hang up in an A2 frame and a very dark MIDNIGHT BLUE/BLACK passe-partout for contrast (NOT a plain black as the contrast to the red would not have such a great impact in my opinion).
Try it out you may even win prices with pictures like this.

Thank you! There's still a bit of colour-fringing that I think needs fixing, but overall I'm really happy with how this turned out. This also makes a great white rose if you turn it black and white with a red filter
I'll have to try putting a border on it in Photoshop to see how that looks, it sounds interesting! One of my favourite things about this picture: I didn't have to take it off the bush to get the shot
Thanks again for your kind comments! There's a lot of even better photos in the forum, so be sure to have a look through the galleries!
