Among the cone flowers

Among the cone flowers in the Botanic Garden, Oxford, 07 August 2010. I was drawn to this shot because I wanted an interesting way of photographing these flowers whose colours can be quite overpowering. I settled on a close-up of a hover fly, leaving a good part of the colourful flowers out of focus and thus producing (I hope) a more summery and dreamy picture. On the far side of the front flower you can also see a bumblebee.
