I do like the shot, composition wise but it's dated like a shot from the 39 Steps, a wee bit of colour and I am sure would change it and produce a realy good pleasing picture. regards Ron

PS I did a lot of black & white pictures Years ago and I find B & W now a difficult medium to absorb. it's a personal thingyyyy perhaps....Ron

i think this would work well in B&W if the power lines were missing and if you added a bit more contrast. Good composition though

I've been recently inspired by a few of the photographers profiles highlighted on Photoicon - some fabulous b&w shots there...

I prefer Black & White to colour Phil, but Rob is correct, you have to up the contrast, I do that in the dark room, but it is very easy in the likes of Photoshop, if I could have the negative of your Black and White I could show you what you have in this image, unfortunately it looks digital.
Keep going at the black and white, you'll get there.

Cheers Rees,

The look I was going for was adding more light into the foreground (less contrast) to then over compensate with a filter on the sky to make it seem heavier... if that makes sense, the appearance of the clouds being heavy with rain...
