Thanks for the comments. This is a stack of 20 individual photos each with about 1 sec exposure. Stacking gives the effect of a much longer exposure. The sky was incredible and we only found one small space along a busy road between Skye and Assynt to stop and capture it. The colours were really vivid like this photo. The Cuillin Hills of Skye are in the background.

Stacks are a highly overlooked tool for creating images with great depth.
I use stacks often, especially for astro work.
