Depth of field and sensitive composition are the strong points for me, as well as the colouration and POV. By the way, David, I just bought for US $14.50 a 28-80 Takumar-F Macro on eBay, and was startled to discover that it compared well some 55-80 range shots taken with my brand new HD-DA 55-300 lens. Not as sharp, of course, but plenty sharp nonetheless, and consistently sharp across the frame. Long live old glass.

Really excellent David, makes a lovely image and is unusual compared to what we're used to seeing.

I can only agree since I love the oldies. They all have their various charms (and downsides) and once you learn what works with them they're great fun.

Thank you all for encouraging me.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
