Fungi City

by cnfearn

More fungi found during a recent walk in my local park, I got down low and shot from the side to give it a sort of city look to it.

Well spotted, like the angle and delicate tones.

Nice subject and great title. I can see that you have focussed on the lower third fungi just left of centre, that is in crisp focus but for me the rest of the city dwellings are disturbingly out of focus. Use of a smaller aperture such as f/22 would give greater depth of field but will need a longer exposure time which will necessitate rock steady camera support with such a long focal length lens, either from a very short tripod, resting it on the ground, or on bean bag, you are then likely to need to cut away the grass from the lens's line of sight though. Use of a shorter focal length lens would enable you to get closer, allow use longer exposure times and require less ground clearance. I find that a 35mm Macro is ideal. Longer exposures are OK since fungi aren't moving very fast, relative to Earth! Others will probably frown upon my criticism which is intended to be helpful.

Regards and happy Fungi Safaris.
