The Journey

The Journey

Photo Information
A very interesting subject to photograph-The workmanship involved. Skills that could easily be lost forever.

This sculpture in wood is in the church at Holy Island Northumberland. A copy in bronze is exhibited in Durham city. The sculpture is by Fenwick Lawson based in the North East of England.

Googling his name reveals more of his pieces and locations.
Thank you to DOIK for the information.

The piece is called The Journey and it is by Fenwick Lawson and it can be fond in St Mary's church on Holy Island. A bronze copy is in millennium square in Durham City. I met Fenwick last year and managed to get a photo of him alongside another of his works in Durham Cathedral.

A well captured shot.

A very good shot of this. Not as simple as it may appear at first because the light through the window (unseen) at left changes.

Thank you for your comments.

Also, thanks to John aka DOIK for the information on the sculpture and artist. It was interesting to note that a further example of this particular piece is on display in a city centre. Looks like a visit to Durham is on the cards for a short break this year.
