Glenfinnan viaduct

Glenfinnan viaduct

Photo Information
Whilst in Scotland I fulfilled a long held ambition to ride on the 'Jacobite' train. Here it is crossing the famous Glenfinnan viaduct.

LIKEd. Perfect and even better if you should crop left upper corner...that "slice"of sky is disturbing, IMHO.

Beautiful image. Its a wonderful location, been many times. But I regret to say I've never ridden on the train on that line.
Is that a B1 on the front of the train.? On second thoughts I think its the K1.

It's the K1 62005. It looks very much 'at home' on that line. I was fortunate enough to be seated in the end carriage so got a good view from the open widow of the rear door. Later on in the day we went back to the viewpoint to get some shots of the train passing over the viaduct.

A classic view and a classic photo but, by golly it's good! Indeed, it looks like the NELPG's K-1 up front so it deserved to be photographed by a K-1!

The K1 class were regulars on this line back in the days of steam on British Railways.
