Lonely Birch - Loch Assynt Morning

by Bagworth

Having taken loads of shots of Suilven dawn I was walking back and turned to see this beautiful detail of light catching tree, reeds and (importantly) the far shore of the loch.

One of my favourite photos over the last month and a half---and that is saying a lot. A gem!

Wow, thanks folks. I do like this shot and have been playing at post-processing (not this image), in particular the steely water tones and bringing them slightly more into the 'frame'. It balances well with the warm colours that otherwise dominate.

Lovely. I like the tones and I like the originality of the composition.

This is what photography is all about, catching the fleeting moments of light that turn a mere landscape into something magical.

Fantastic image.

You did the scene the justice it deserved.
