Suncatcher

Suncatcher

Photo Information
This was my entry for the recent "Geometry All Around Us" monthly competition and I have put it up here to get it into my portfolio.

It is a little sun catcher crystal that I have taken out into the garden on a sunny day.

This is a two image focus stack both images using a Pentax K-3 with the Samsung equivalent of the DFA100 macro:
1/200sec, f8 & ISO200.

Shot raw then processed in LR5. Reduced in size in PSE10 to allow the focus stack to be processed using CombineZP. The background was then darkened in PSE10 where it was also resized again for the web.

I boggled at this when it was first posted in the competition and I boggle at it now. The sheer number of refractions, reflections and colours defies imagination.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Certainly worth the effort! Don't know that I'd have the patience for it though!
