Little owl
by petrochemist
That's a really fabulous capture, but I don't think this is a Little Owl. Anyone know which species this is?
I should have been more careful with my title - I meant only little as in small, ignoring that I was naming a specific species. Thinking back to comments at the show I think it may be some sort of Pygmy owl (None of the pygmy owl images on Wikipedia look right though) After further web browsing I've found another possibility - a Scops owl.
I've succumbed to temptation & uploaded a wider view that gives a better idea of scale (My daughter's holding the owl)
