Car Trails at Sunset

Car Trails at Sunset

Photo Information
Saw the sunset out of the window so it was a bit of a rush, quickly jumped in the car and drove up the road. Set tripod up and through a ND grad and Maghogany filter on and this was the result. Didn't have time to experiment any further as it was gone within 10mins

It looks very good - nice post processing.

Without being there I could be talking rubbish, but I do wonder whether the composition would have been slightly improved if the sign was to the left of the centre point, somewhere around the third position because it does somehow draw the eye. But then it might not look right because the road leads to a nice place on the horizon.

You did well in capturing that sunset though, so often it is not possible because we are in the wrong place or don't have the camera there

Excellent shot. Love the sky and trails. The sign is a bit annoying, being a PP addict I would have cloned it out but I know lots of people would consider that cheating

Well done for making the effort to get out and capture it though! All too often I see a great sky (or anything else!) and simply cannot muster the time and energy to go and capture it

Thanks for the comment - not sure if the M62 is the "right" place for a sunset but beggers can't be choosers! - With regards the composition I would have loved to capture the right hand side but unfortunately there was a huge gantry over the road! And yes I hate the sign too. With regards post processing, I've just lightened it a bit as I didn't expose long enough and increase the tonal contrast a bit which brings the detail out on the bank. I think the rest is due to the filters.
