Twilight with Venus and the Moon

by MikeInDevon

I caught this early evening twilight shot of Venus and the Moon from Eastbourne. You can see the old moon in the new moon's arms lit by Earthshine. A number of bright stars were also visible in the full resolution image.

To the eye it was clear that the surface brightness of Venus was higher than the new Moon's bright crescent, this isn't apparent in the image as both are 'blown' highlights.

Handheld, cropped and lightly post processed with DxO.
