Top of the Island

by LennyBloke

Noticed the strong Winter sunlight shafting through the window onto an old and rather nice looking Gin bottle so used the Pentax FA* 85mm and a 36mm Triplus auto extension tube to capture the combination of glass, wood, shadows and highlights. The bottle is a beautiful sea green colour but a mono conversion seemed just right for this image.
I chose this lens because although a Macro lens may have given better sharpness, the out of focus areas tend to have a beautifully soft and smooth look with the FA*85.

Effectivement beaucoup de douceur sur ce bouchon et goulot de bouteille. j' aime beaucoup !
Indeed a lot of softness on this cork and bottle neck. I really like !

I love it when the light on something is so right that you have to get the camera before it goes away. This looks like one of those times and you have made full use of it. It's lovely. .... Pity it's also empty.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
