I hope you do not mind my critique Nigelk.
The vertical linear highlights attract to much attention
Possibly subtracting something, from the photograph as a whole.
The foreground and mid ground of the remaining foliage is where the essence lies.
I think you have captured that but the bright highlights distract
I like it none the less

The highlights are a bit neat and repetitive. The essence of the picture is super, nevertheless.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

No problem at all. Always interesting to hear how others perceive, see one's images.
It was shot into strong light coming into the woods, the image coming out better than I expected to be honest. I have not added or taken away anything other than a crop indeed, for myself I think I could trim a bit more off the top of the image, it's the bright areas up there that distract me a bit.
