Candlesnuff fungus

One from a week or so back. There are still fungus out there to find.
Candlesnuff is one of the last tenants of a rotting piece of tree before it crumbles to nothing.

Interesting... looked like it could almost be a drone shot from the thumbnail... like a high rise urban-scape... only in tree form...

Lovely way of presenting a very interesting fungus. I love the DoF that you have chosen, I think that it really makes the image pop.

That looks like candlesnuff to me - especially the powdery white spores all over it. Stagshorn is normally yellow and in compact bunches?
