OS 30 glow plug engine. Carburettor removed and replaced with home made parts for control line use.

Me too! Last used O.S. engines and the like in 1959-1960 'ish. Nice piece of work Mike.

Well done! You made a really got job of it. And with thanks. for me, the absolute photo of the week! Makes me remember all the Diesels, glowplugs, flicking away at the reticent prop (wooden), Jetex, balsa, rubber powered, Britfix, Frog, Keilcraft (even forgotten how to spell it), Biggles, the William books, the Eagle with Dan Dare Pilot of the Future, and the centre spread with cutaway illustrations of all sorts of machines. Those really were the days! No plastic ! And if you wanted something you made it yourself. All that at 1500 metres in the long dry winter and wet summer of Southern Rhodesia… And preferring the Beano to the Dandy. Not much to do with Pentax in those (for me) Leica and Kodak Retina days, But I do remember staring at Asahi Pentaxes and wondering…
